We welcomed in the new year and welcomed back one another yesterday at WIPP.
Our class quickly got right back into the swing of things as if the two weeks off never happened.
They certainly didn't forget how to "rearrange" the classroom in a matter of minutes, as you can see by these photos. Thankfully, they also remembered how to return it to normal as quickly as they had trashed it. Everyone was happy to be back, and the talk of the day was all about Santa and what he had brought! It sounds like everyone had a wonderful Christmas Break.
The children showed us how they haven't forgotten kindness and cooperation.

I hope you can see how they are developing this "make-believe" birthday party game by using communication and patience. When the children play these types of games, it is never random. They have a specific plan of how they want the game to go, though usually each child's plan is different. Then we have conflict. Conflict is a normal part of a preschool classroom, but so is cooperation. That is where communication and patience comes in. This is probably the most important life skill I will teach your child. The ability to get along with others through compromise and cooperation is a skill they will use, well, forever. Happy 2013!
Hey Shari! I can't see the picture in this one..Is it showing up for you?
