THE SCIENCE OF WATER ABSORPTION
In science lab #7, we learned that water is absorbed when it becomes part of an object and no longer stands alone. We discussed what types of things (fabric, paper) are able to absorb water and the types of items that cannot (rocks, plastic). We demonstrated how water can actually move from one container to another through the power of absorption.
Our experimentation led us to the topic of the importance of water absorption in stain removal. Each child then made some marker stains of their own on a coffee filter and “washed” them clean!
