One of the most important skills we work on fostering is cooperation, in both play and work. In order for us to play together and to work together to complete a task, we must learn to compromise and cooperate with one another. This is NOT a trait bestowed naturally on we humans, as we come into the world very "ME" oriented.
Working together, goals are more easily accomplished, like the completion of these floor puzzles.
Helping the teachers cut pieces of plastic into small pieces for a project fosters cooperation and the gift of helping others.
And of course, the simple act of playing together is really so much more than plain old fun. It fosters and teaches the very things that make us good human beings. Play is child's work and what helps make them the people they become.
