FISH BY THE NUMBERS

Learning how to count things correctly and recognizing numbers by name are important skills to learn and know. Here, we are playing a fishing game that uses a die with the numbers 1 through 6 on it. We altered the game a bit by allowing each child to roll the die, name the number they rolled, and then go fishing. This game also fostered the skills of taking turns, patience and following the rules of the game. Playing a game with your child is a great way to teach them many things at once.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here we are, back to school after Christmas Break. We are excited to be back in the classroom and to see out friends again. There's lots for us to work on and accomplish as the new year begins.

Sorting out the clear gems from all of the other colors is a great fine motor activity. Doing puzzles is a great pre-math skill and the children love working them in groups so they can help one another.

We can never forget our art projects. This is when we can roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty - LITERALLY!
